The Blue Tick on WhatsApp is the equivalent of a Twitter blue check — it tells customers Meta has verified your business is legitimate. We've shepherded 200+ Indian brands through approval. Here's what actually works.
Why the Blue Tick matters
27% higher trust scores from customers (industry studies)
18% higher open rates on marketing templates
Visible from the first second of any chat — no extra effort
Permanent (until you change your business name or category)
The basic eligibility floor
Meta will not even review your application if you don't clear these. Tick them off first:
WhatsApp Business API access (not the free app)
Verified Meta Business Manager
Display name approved (i.e., your registered business name shows up on outbound chats)
An active website with the same brand name
At least 2–3 social channels with a consistent brand presence
What actually moves the needle
Once you're past the eligibility floor, Meta evaluates 'notability' — basically, does your brand exist in the public consciousness? Five things move that score:
1. Press mentions in recognised outlets
Even one or two mentions in YourStory, ET Tech, Inc42, or similar carry serious weight. If you don't have any, run a small PR push before applying.
2. Wikipedia / encyclopedia presence
Hard to engineer, but if your brand is mentioned in any structured public source (Crunchbase, Wikipedia, an industry report) — flag it in the application notes.
3. Quality of your social handles
Verified Instagram, LinkedIn company page with 500+ followers, active YouTube channel — these all support the notability case. Empty or abandoned handles hurt.
4. Domain age and traffic
Older domains (3+ years) with steady SimilarWeb traffic are favoured. Brand-new domains aren't disqualifying but raise the bar elsewhere.
5. A complete business profile on WhatsApp
Logo, description, business hours, address, website URL, and category — all set up cleanly inside Sendvise before submitting. A bare-bones profile reads as a low-effort application.
Timelines and what to expect
Submission: 10 minutes (via Sendvise)
First Meta review: 5–10 working days typical, 30 in rare cases
If approved: blue tick appears within 24 hours
If rejected: Meta gives a reason; you can re-submit with corrections
Most brands that don't pass on the first try succeed on the second or third — Sendvise re-submits free of charge.
Don't pay agencies extra for this
Some BSPs and agencies charge ₹10,000–25,000 'verification fee' for what is, structurally, a 10-minute submission. Sendvise includes Blue Tick support free in every plan, including Starter. If your current BSP charges for it, that's a sign to switch.
